Jan. 28

CANINE DETAIL: A deputy had a canine unit conduct a free air sniff at Miami East High School at 7:36 a.m. K9 Vello alerted to the odor of narcotics in one book bag. Nothing illegal was located.

ACCIDENT: There was a report of an accident with no injuries at 7:40 a.m. on the 500 block of North State Route 48 in Newton Township.

DISPUTE: A deputy was dispatched to the Miami County Sheriff’s Office for a theft report. The reporting party advised he paid a contractor $18,660 as a deposit for construction work. The contractor never returned to begin the work. This case is pending. The incident address was reported on Iddings Road in Union Township.

HIT SKIP: A hit skip accident was reported at 10:03 a.m. on the 3400 block of Kessler Frederick Road in Union Township. One vehicle part was collected at the scene.

RECKLESS OPERATION: A deputy was dispatched to the Troy Bus Station in regard to a vehicle running a school bus stop sign at 4:25 p.m. in the area of Peters Road and West Monroe Concord Road in Concord Township. Upon further investigation, the driver of the vehicle was cited for running the school bus stop sign.

ACCIDENT: There was a report of an accident with no injuries at 7:02 p.m. in the area of West State Route 185 and Rakestraw Road in Newberry Township.

Jan. 29

ACCIDENT: There was a report of an accident with no injuries at 8:07 a.m. in the area of East Miami Shelby Road and North Lostcreek Shelby Road in Brown Township.

ACCIDENT: There was a report of an accident with no injuries at 9:34 a.m. in the area of South County Road 25A and Ginghamsburg Frederick Road in Ginghamsburg.

NEIGHBOR COMPLAINT: A subject stated a neighbor had stolen her dog at 1:58 p.m. on the 9500 block of Country Club Road in Springcreek Township. After investigation, it was deemed no charges would be filed. An information report was taken.

ACCIDENT: There was a report of an accident with no injuries at 6:20 p.m. in the area of East State Route 55 and North State Route 201 in Lostcreek Township.

TRESPASSING: There was a trespassing complaint at 6:29 p.m. on the 2800 block of South State Route 48 in Ludlow Falls. One female was taken into custody.

Jan. 30

ASSIST SQUAD: A deputy responded to juvenile detention center for an assist squad at 5:53 p.m. The male juvenile was transported to Upper Valley Medical Center and released a short time later back to the custody of juvenile detention.

ASSIST SQUAD: A deputy responded to an assist squad call Vine Street in Ludlow Falls at 7:40 p.m. One juvenile was examined on scene and transported to Dayton Children’s Hospital. This case is closed.

OVI: Deputies responded to a possible OVI in the area of Ross Road and State Route 201 in Bethel Township at 7:53 p.m. A subject was charged with OVI and not having a driver’s license.

Jan. 31

WELFARE CHECK: Deputies responded responded to the village of Pleasant Hill in reference to a missing person at 8:40 a.m. After investigation, the male was located and transported to Upper Valley Medical Center for treatment.

THEFT: There was a report of juvenile getting caught stealing vapes on security footage at Stone Circle Drive Thru in Troy at 9:44 a.m. The complainant did not want to pursue charges, only for the juvenile to be located and trespassed from the business.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE: Deputies responded to the 9000 block of South State Route 201 in Bethel Township, at or near Dollar General, at 1:36 p.m. for a criminal damaging complaint. Caller stated she went outside for a smoke break and observed a male cutting her exhaust off of her vehicle. Caller stated the male then fled the scene in an older, dirty, silver pickup truck.

THEFT: A deputy was dispatched to the 10000 block of Burr Oak New Hope Road in Brown Township in reference to a theft complaint at 3:58 p.m. The item was entered in as stolen. This case is closed.
