March 25

ACCIDENT: There was a report of a traffic accident with no injuries on the 8500 block of West Miami Shelby Road in Newberry Township at 7:11 a.m.

MENACING: A deputy was dispatched to the U.S. Post Office in Brown Township on a menacing complaint at 8:32 a.m. Upon arrival, the suspect had left the business. Shawn M. Dankworth, 21, of Conover, was cited for fourth-degree misdemeanor menacing in connection with this incident.

CIVIL DISPUTE: A deputy was dispatched to the 8500 block of Piqua Lockington Road in Piqua on a report of a theft of a cat at 8:53 a.m. After further investigation, it was found to be a civil dispute. Case is closed.

ASSIST CITIZEN: A deputy responded to Geiserman Road in Piqua on an assist citizen call at 10:38 a.m. The reporting party advised they had received two debit cards, with different names on them, sent to their address. They requested the incident be documented due to previous fraudulent activity.

UNRULY JUVENILE: A deputy responded to Cooperative Learning Center in Staunton Township in reference to an unruly juvenile at 12:39 p.m. The juvenile had broken out a window with a rock. The report was forwarded to Juvenile Court for charges.

WELFARE CHECK: A deputy responded to the area of State Route 48 and Horseshoe Bend Road in Newton Township for a welfare check at 3:55 p.m. Male was found to be traveling to Cincinnati. Deputy transported the male to Speedway in Vandalia.

ACCIDENT: There was a report of a traffic accident with no injuries on the 5700 block of Greenville Falls Clayton Road in Newberry Township at 5:18 p.m.

BURGLARY: There was a burglary complaint on the 8600 block of Union Shelby Road in Springcreek Township at 5:41 p.m. This case is pending further investigation.

PEDESTRIAN CONTACT/BURGLARY: A deputy was sitting stationary on East Main Street at Miami Street in Bradford when a subject flagged the deputy down in reference to a suspicious male. The subject stated that he reported a burglary on March 23, 2022, and he just saw the subject in the area. The male was located and subsequently charged with burglary and obstructing official business.

TRESPASSING: A deputy was dispatched to North Main Street in Laura in reference to a trespassing complaint at 10 p.m. The area was checked, and the male suspect was not located, and due to suspect having an outstanding warrant, a residence the male is known to frequent was later checked. The male was not located.

March 26

DISTURBANCE: A deputy was dispatched to a disturbance on the 400 block of Bon Air Drive in Monroe Township at 1:53 p.m. Prior to deputy involvement, both parties had split, and the reporting party requested a phone call. After speaking with both parties over the phone, the situation was found to strictly be a verbal argument. Neither party believed anything criminal did or will occur. No charges filed, this case is closed.

PRISONER TRANSPORT: An inmate was transported from the Miami County Jail to Upper Valley Medical Center for medical treatment at 6:18 p.m. After further investigation, a furlough was granted due to the need for transport to Ohio State University Hospital for further care.

March 27

SUSPICIOUS: A deputy was dispatched to the area of Walnut Grove Road and South Dayton Brandt Road in Elizabeth Township at 2:27 a.m. on a suspicious complaint. After further investigation, it was found to be an abandoned vehicle left in the roadway. The vehicle was towed by Randy’s Towing without incident.
