For the Miami Valley Today

TROY — With spring cleaning quickly approaching, the Miami Valley Veterans Museum is offering an alternative way to put those new items you have left from the holidays or items that you just do not want or need. The museum, a non-profit, will put those items to good use as a fundraiser for the museum at one of their fundraising quarter auctions. What better way to start spring cleaning?

For example, consider donating new, never opened linens that would look great in someone else’s home instead of yours, or cookware items you just don’t need that you won at an event or were given to you during the holidays. Do you have new items that you purchased online and never returned that can’t be returned or a place in the garage or closet where you have new things you do not want or need?

When you donate items to the museum for their fundraising events, they can issue you a receipt for your donated items at the Miami Valley Veterans Museum, 2245 S. County Rd. 25 A, Troy, Ohio, 43373. Museum hours are Mondays, Wednesday, and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call the museum at (937) 332-8852 to arrange a drop off time for your new items that you would like to donate to their fundraising auctions.
