XENIA — The Troy baseball team erased an early deficit in a 7-2 win at Xenia Monday in MVL action.

Troy improved to 5-2 overall and 4-0 in the MVL.

Troy was trailing 1-0, before taking control with a five-run second inning.

Caleb Akins and Brody Hoke both had two-run singles in the inning.

Evan Kaiser was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, Akins was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Hoke had two RBIs.

Nathan McDowell pitched the first six innings and combined with Liam Evilsizor on a one-hitter, striking out 12 and walking two.

KETTERING — The Tippecanoe baseball team dropped a road game Monday.

Jaxon Hill had a single for the Red Devils.

Peyton Schultz, Cayden McKinney and Braden Burgbacher combined on a seven-hitter for Tipp, striking out seven and walking three.

CASSTOWN — The Miami East baseball team got a win at home Monday.

Layton Hughes was 2-for-3 wit ha triple and two RBIs for the Vikings and Vincent Crane had two RBIs.

Adam Lawson, KJ Gustin and Connor Apple combined on a four-hitter, striking out five and walking three.

XENIA — The Troy softball team got a five-inning win on the road Monday.

Emily May swung the big bat for the Trojans, going 2-for-2 with a double and five RBIs.

Olivia Setser was 2-for-2 with three RBIs and Riley King was 2-for-2 with two RBIs.

Alexis Ater had two RBIs, Sophia Knife had a double and two RBIs and Abby Seger tripled.

Amayah Kennedy and Kaitlyn Price each had a double.

Knife and Mimi Shaw combined on a three-hitter, striking out nine.

Piqua 8,

Tippecanoe 0

PIQUA — The Piqua softball team remained unbeaten with a home win Monday.

Sam Clark was 2-for-4 with a double, a triple and two RBIs for the Indians and Audrey Bean had a double and two RBIs.

Taylan Swartz and Ella Snyder were both 2-for-3 and Izzy Vincent had a double.

Julia Coppess pitched a two-hitter, striking out eight.

For Tippecanoe, Jaina Drum and Rylan Elms combined on an 11-hitter, striking out five and walking four.

Gracie Raiff and Grace Brooks had one single each for Tippecanoe.

TROY — The Troy boys tennis team picked up a win Monday to improve to 2-1.

In singles, Kyle Penny defeated Isaac Snider 6-4, 6-0; Kellen Nichols defeated Raihan Khobaib 6-2, 6-1 and Michael Burns defeated Nate Miller 6-3, 6-0.

In doubles, Leo Gluck and Troy Whitehead defeated Brian Yamada and Ethan Lui 6-3, 6-1 and Adam Harris and Parth Rajput defeated Aditya Palnaik and Aryan Desarapu 6-3, 4-6, 1-0.

TIPP CITY — The Tippecanoe boys tennis team opened the season by advancing in the Ohio Tennis Coaches Association team tournament.

Tipp will play the Centerville-Mason winner in the next round.

In single,s Nick Von Krosigk won 7-5, 6-3; Cameron Davis won 6-0, 6-1 and Alex Darner won 6-3, 6-1.

In doubles, Roman List and Grant Vonderheide won 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 and Ty Hoover and Deacon Blake won 6-4, 6-1.
