TROY — The Troy tennis team cruised to a 5-0 win over Springfield Monday.

In singles, Noah George won 6-0, 6-0; Genki Masunaga won 6-0, 6-0; and Wyatt Hench won 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles, Matt Bess and Henry Johnston won 6-0, 6-1 and Aiden Miller and Eli Monnin won 6-4, 6-2.

Lehman drops

SIDNEY — The Lehman Catholic tennis team lost 3-2 to St. Marys Monday.

“St. Marys is ranked eighth in the Northwest Ohio district,” Lehman coach Tim Ungericht said. “They are well-coached and aggressive at both doubles positions. Their first singles player is also very good.

“I knew it would be a close match either way. Chris (Evans) and Joe Pannapara had nice wins over steady players. Their doubles teams were just more aggressive than we were.”

In singles, Sam Gilardi lost 6-1, 6-1; Chris Evans won 6-3, 6-3 and Joe Pannapara won 6-4, 6-2.

In doubles, Max Schmiesing and Brandon Jones lost 6-1, 6-3 and Brock Bostick and Logan Linson lost 6-2, 6-1.

St. Marys is 8-4 and Lehman is 5-5.
