PLEASANT HILL — Free one-on-one technology help is now being offered at Tipp City Public Library, Oakes-Beitman Memorial Library, Troy-Miami County Public Library, and Milton-Union Public Library. Guiding Ohio Online is a State Library of Ohio administered competitive LSTA (Library Services and Technology Act) grant. This program seeks to bridge gaps in access to technology and increase digital literacy in rural communities throughout Ohio.

As part of the scope of this program, the Oakes-Beitman Memorial Library will now be offering Introduction to Ancestry Library classes in small group format. Are you interested in using Ancestry Library, but aren’t sure where to start? This introductory course will prepare you to embark on an adventure in to your past, learning to discover your family history using Ancestry at the Library.

The first class will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 12, 2022 at the Oakes-Beitman Memorial Library. The library is located at 12 N. Main St., Pleasant Hill, OH 45359. No prior experience with technology or Ancestry Library is necessary to participate in this course. Contact the library at (937) 676-2731 to register.

In addition to this course, the Oakes-Beitman Memorial Library will continue to offer one-on-one technology help to patrons every Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Bring your questions about your device, computer basics, email, Microsoft Office, resumes and job search, digital library resources (Hoopla, Overdrive, etc.), government websites, genealogy resources, and more! Appointments are recommended, but walk-ins are welcome.

This Guiding Ohio Online program was made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the State Library of Ohio.
