TROY — On Monday Jan. 10, Physical Therapy 212 and Classical Pilates expanded into its new location at 81 Robin Hood Lane in Troy.

The newly renovated 2,500-square-foot space is over twice the size of its original downtown location and features expanded areas to meet the demand for its Classical Pilates classes, as well as three additional private treatment rooms, to increase its current offerings for sports and orthopedic physical therapy. Dr. Kristen Schulte Adkins, founder and physical therapist, also plans for the new location to provide room for growth into other niche physical therapy practices such as women’s pelvic health.

The building at 81 Robin Hood Lane was originally built by Dr. John Murphy and was the location of his orthodontics practice for nearly 30 years. Regarding its rich healthcare history, Schulte adds, “To be in a space and inherit its history as a family-owned healthcare facility that was an anchor in Troy for so many years is an honor. Likewise, with this move, I hope to establish Physical Therapy 212’s permanence in serving the Troy and surrounding communities.”

Since opening Physical Therapy 212 in downtown Troy in 2018, Schulte has been working to respond to the growing demand for her brand of physical therapy, which specializes in manual therapy and dry needling for prevention and treatment of both athletic injuries and chronic joint and spine conditions. In 2020, Jenny Anticoli combined her existing Classical Pilates studio with 212 to expand its offerings, which includes the use of specialized equipment for exercises aimed at improving a person’s health and fitness by targeting their strength, stability, and flexibility.

“The receptivity of 212 from Troy and surrounding communities has been overwhelming,” said Schulte. “With the addition of Jenny Anticoli’s expertise in Classical Pilates, I felt that the only way to continue to respond to this growing demand for our services was to expand to a larger and more accessible location.”

Physical Therapy 212 is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. More information on Physical Therapy 212 is available at www.physicaltherapy212.com.
