Piqua Main Street tree replacement project

PIQUA — Piqua city crews will be removing and replacing the street trees along Main Street from Greene Street to the Ohio to Indiana Trail over the next couple of weeks, according to a city of Piqua newsflash. The existing, overgrown street trees will be replaced with a male Ginkgo tree that is suitable for the urban streetscape.

Work on removing the existing street trees is set to begin during the week of Oct. 23. On Nov. 1, the contractor will begin installing the new street trees in the same locations previously occupied by the trees that were removed. The tree planting work is expected to be complete by the week of Nov. 6, in time for the new trees to be decorated for the holiday season.

Traffic will be maintained while the work is being carried out. Motorists and pedestrians are asked to please proceed with caution through this area while the work is being completed.

Questions should be directed to Bob Graeser, project manager, 937-778-2049.
