Firefighters from Casstown work at the scene of a fatal crash that occurred on State Route 589, north of Casstown, early Saturday morning.
CASSTOWN — A Piqua man is dead following a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning north of Casstown.
According to Miami County Sheriff’s Deputies, Christopher Cullers, 35, was traveling north on State Route 589 around 12:30 a.m. Saturday when he lost control of his vehicle, went off the road, taking out two mailboxes, before rolling multiple times and coming to rest on its top. The crash occurred in the 2700 block of State Route 589, approximately one-half mile north of Casstown.
Cullers, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from his vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A crash reconstruction team from the Miami County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
The Troy Fire Department responded to the scene with a medic unit along with Casstown Fire Department.
