April 3

TRESPASSING: A subject was warned for trespassing at a residence on the 600 block of Wood Street at 8 a.m.

April 4

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: An officer responded on the report of a disorderly subject at 1:30 p.m. on the 1500 block of South Street. The subject was identified and asked to leave the area.

ANIMAL COMPLAINT: Officers responded to the report of an aggressive dog running loose in the area of the 500 block of Miami Street at 4 p.m. The dog was located, and the owner later arrived on scene. The owner was issued a citation for dogs running at large. Cheyene M. Yount, 24, of Piqua, was cited for minor misdemeanor dogs running at large.

THEFT: An officer was dispatched to a theft complaint that occurred sometime between 2 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. at the Colonial Terrace Apartments on Covington Avenue. Joseph R. Young, 31, of Piqua, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor theft.

THEFT: Tires were reported stolen from a front porch on the 200 block of South Downing Street at 5:30 p.m.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: There was a report of a male and female subject refusing to leave the Comfort Inn on Ash Street at 6:20 p.m. The subjects were located and trespassed from the business.

ILLEGAL BURNING: An anonymous caller reported an illegal burn complaint at approximately 7:10 p.m. on the 700 block of McKinley Avenue. A male was warned for burning cardboard.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: An officer was dispatched to a mental health complaint at approximately 7:30 p.m. on the 1400 block of Plum Street. Donald Prather, 47, of Piqua, was cited for fourth-degree misdemeanor disorderly conduct and warned for trespassing. Prather was later charged with fourth-degree misdemeanor criminal trespass after reportedly trespassing onto a neighbor’s property at noon on April 5 on the 1400 block of Plum Street. Prather was charged again with fourth-degree misdemeanor disorderly conduct after he was reportedly “screaming at his neighbors about religion” at approximately 10:30 p.m. on April 5 on the 1400 block of Plum Street. He was arrested and taken to UVMC for an involuntary mental health evaluation.

April 5

THEFT: A complainant reported her credit card stolen at 12:45 a.m. on the 900 block of Park Avenue.

THEFT: An officer responded to the report of a male stealing beer from Speedway on Covington Avenue at approximately 1:10 a.m. Two males were located and charged. Paul V. Froehle, 32, of Piqua, was cited for minor misdemeanor disorderly conduct. Peter J. Kelly, Jr., 32, of New Paris, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor theft and minor misdemeanor disorderly conduct.

ACCIDENT: There was a report of a two-vehicle accident with no injuries at 9 a.m. in the area of East Water and North Main streets.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE: A landlord advised a cable box was damaged and a hole was dug in the driveway of a vacant residence on the 700 block of South Downing Street. The damage occurred sometime between March 29 and April 5.

UNAUTHORIZED USE: A caller advised her vehicle was taken from her residence without her permission at 1 p.m. on the 600 block of South Wayne Street. It was later located on the 1400 block of Plum Street at approximately 5:40 p.m.

ACCIDENT: Two vehicles were involved in a minor traffic accident at 3:40 p.m. in the area of East Grant and South Main streets. Both parties denied any injuries, and both registered owners agreed to sign a traffic crash waiver.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: There was a report of a male subject yelling and screaming inside the Clean and Fresh Laundry mat on Lincoln Street at 6:10 p.m. The male was warned for disorderly.
