PIQUA — All information is from Piqua Police Department reports and Miami County Municipal Court records.

April 15

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: A complainant advised there was a subject in her vehicle at approximately 9 a.m. at Home Depot on Ash Street. The suspect was identified and charged. Michael D. Eleyet, 42, of Piqua, was charged with third-degree misdemeanor criminal mischief.

ASSIST SQUAD: An officer responded to a possible overdose at 9:20 a.m. on the 500 block of South Downing Street. The involved party refused EMS services.

THEFT: An individual attempted to steal a pair of shoes from Walmart at approximately 9:40 a.m.

SUSPICIOUS: An officer was dispatched to a suspicious complaint from an anonymous caller in reference to a male subject acting suspicious inside the Southside Laundromat at 10 a.m. The complainant advised the male appeared to be highly intoxicated and left on foot toward Main Street. The area was checked, and the male was unable to be located.

THEFT: A complainant advised she had video footage showing a theft from Family Dollar at approximately 11:45 a.m.

SUSPICIOUS: A complainant advised he found his backdoor open at noon on the 200 block of North College Street.

ACCIDENT: There was a report of an accident with injuries at 2:45 p.m. in the area of Covington and McKinley avenues.

THEFT: An officer was dispatched to a theft complaint in reference to the complainant’s car title being stolen out of her vehicle overnight on the 1400 block of Madison Avenue.

April 16

OVI: A female ran into a gas meter to a residence at 2:50 a.m. on the 300 block of Blaine Avenue. She was found to be OVI and was arrested. She refused a test, so she was cited and released. Mikaila M. Fisher-Cotrell, 24, of Piqua, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor OVI-under the influence.

THEFT: A male subject reported his prescription medication was taken from his vehicle at 8:45 a.m. on the 100 block of Robert M. Davis Parkway.

ASSIST SQUAD: There was a report of an individual who appeared to be overdosing at approximately 9:20 a.m. on the 200 block of East Main Street.

CHILD ENDANGERING: A caller advised she saw two children on the roof of a residence at approximately 12:20 p.m. The address was redacted.

THEFT: Three bicycles were reported stolen from a backyard on the 500 block of Cleveland Street sometime between 11 p.m. April 15 and 1:30 p.m. April 16.

DRUG OFFENSE: An officer saw two individuals sitting in a car digging around at 2:10 p.m. on the 700 block of West North Street. One individual was found to be in violation of a protection order. Justin L. Lynn, 26, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor violating a protection order and first-degree misdemeanor possession of a drug abuse instrument in connection with this incident.

SHOT FIRED: There was a report of arguing and then a gunshot being fired at 2:40 p.m. on the 200 block of Walker Street. A male was charged and incarcerated, and the firearm was recovered. Dustin R. Kaeck, 36, of Piqua, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor weapons while intoxicated and first-degree misdemeanor inducing panic. Kaeck posted surety bond on April 17 and was released from the Miami County Jail. His case has been scheduled for a pre-trial conference on June 3.

CHILD ENDANGERING: There was a report of three children left alone in a vehicle in a business parking lot at 3:15 p.m. The location was redacted. A woman was warned for child endangering.

ACCIDENT: There was a report of a non-injury accident involving two vehicles at 4 p.m. in the area of Spring and East Ash streets. A traffic waiver was completed.

THEFT: A subject reported his debit card was stolen by a female subject at approximately 7:45 p.m. on the 500 block of South Main Street.

SUSPICIOUS: There was a report of two juveniles attempting to get into vehicles at approximately 4:30 a.m. on the 900 block of Boone Street. One juvenile was located and cooperated, and the other took off running when confronted by officers. Case is pending.
