PIQUA — The Piqua City Commission will be livestreaming its upcoming meetings and closing its doors to the public in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the city has provided instructions on how community members can view the meetings and provide comments and questions in advance.

The April 7 Piqua City Commission meeting will not be open to public but will be streamed live on the city of Piqua’s YouTube channel at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 7.

The link to the YouTube channel is youtube.com/c/cityofpiqua45356 and viewers can also search for “City of Piqua” on YouTube.com to find its channel.

The city commissioners, City Manager Gary Huff, and City Attorney Frank Patrizio will be the only people present in commission chambers present during the meeting, with the exception of when the commission calls in staff members to present on agenda items from the podium. There will be under 10 people in commission chambers at all times, and staff will be in separate locations in their offices until they are called in to discuss agenda items. The commissioners and city staff will be practicing social distancing and will be spaced appropriately.

The municipal building will also be locked, so only city officials and staff with access cards will be able to access the building.

Public comments will be accepted in advance with the following guidelines:

• This form will take place of the comments for each agenda item and public comments section: piquaoh.formstack.com/forms/commission_meeting_comments

The form can also be found linked on the city’s website at piquaoh.org.

• The city of Piqua will accept only one form submission per person per agenda item or public comment.

• If a person would like to comment on multiple agenda items, please fill out a separate form for each agenda item. This helps with organization during the meeting.

• If a person submits more than one form on one agenda item, only the first form will be acknowledged.

• Comments and questions will be read during the meeting by Mayor Kris Lee and answers will be provided.

• By providing an email on the form, you will receive a confirmation email with all submitted data.

• The submission cut-off for comments and/or questions on agenda items will be noon on April 7.
