Seven Miami County girls qualify for state wrestling tournament

MARYSVILLE — Seven Miami County girls wrestlers advanced to the state tournament at Sunday’s district tournament at Marysville High School.

Miami East is sending five wrestlers to the state meet.

Kaylee Griffith (235) pounds — who finished second in the state tournament a year ago — won the district title.

Lilyan Bruggeman (110) also returns to state after finishing second in the district tournament, while Aliva Wade (135) finished third.

Isabelle Lewis (105) and Annika Paton (190) both finished fourth to advance, while Kiley Davie (100) finished fifth and is an alternate.

Piqua’s Avery Wiley (100) and Tippecanoe’s Emma Hanrahan (125) both return to state after finishing second at the district tournament Sunday.

The state tournament is at Hilliard Davidson High School on Saturday and Sunday.
