WEST CARROLLTON — Mimi Shaw swung the big bat as the Troy softball team completed a sweep of West Carrollton Wednesday with a 22-11 win.

Shaw was 3-for-3 with two doubles, a home run and six RBIs.

Amayah Kennedy was 2-for-4 with a double and Abby Seger was 3-for-5 with a double and two RBIs.

Madison Wright was 3-for-4 wit ha double and Alexis Ater and Emily May had three RBIs each.

Shaw, Sophia Knife and Riley King combined on a 14-hitter, striking out 10 and walking two.

Piqua 24,

Sidney 1

SDINEY — The Piqua softball team completed a sweep of Sidney Wednesday.

Abigail Kirk was 2-for-3 with a double, Sam Clark had a double and two RBIs and Rachel Price, Ella Snyder and Braylyn Shaner all had three RBIs.

Izzy Vincent had four RBIs, Audrey Bean was 3-for-3 with two RBIs, Taylan Swartz had two RBIs and Elizabeth Hubbard was 2-for-3.

Dylan Weatherly and Julia Coppess combined on a seven-hitter, striking out five.

Tippecanoe 3

The Tippecanoe softball team dropped to 0-3 on the season.

Jaina Drum pitched an eight-hitter, striking out three and walking one.

Miami East 14,

Northwestern 7

SPRINGFIELD — The Miami East softball team stayed unbeaten Wednesday.

Jadyn Bair had a three-run homer and four RBIs, Reagan Howell was 2-for-5 with two RBIs, Jacqueline Kadel was 3-for-5 with a double and Abigail Kadel had a triple and two RBIs.

Jaila Thurman was 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs and Kylie Gentis was 2-for-4.

Kadel pitched a six-hitter, striking out seven and walking seven.

Milton-Union 11,

Newton 2

PLEASANT HILL — The Milton-Union softball team got a road win Wednesday,

For Milton, Raegan Fulton was 3-for-3 with a double and a triple.

Carly Zimmer was 3-for-4 with a double and Caley McCarroll was 3-for-3 with a double, home run and three RBIs.

Addy Sanders was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Kassie Crabtree had a triple.

Mylee Jones and Carly Zimmer combined on a three-hitter, striking out 14 and walking five.

For Newton, Kaelyn Petry had a double.

Cori Haines, Layla Van Culin and Audrey Miller combined to strikeout four and walk two.

TROY — The Troy Christian softball team dropped its home opener.

Ella Dersham had asingle and pitched a 14-hitter, striking out eight and walking four.

Troy 1

ARCANUM — The Troy softball team lost a heartbreaker to Arcanum 2-1 Tuesday.

Amayah Kennedy had scored on a dropped third strike in the first inning to give Troy the lead, but Arcanum would score two runs in the seventh to win it.

Kennedy was 2-for-4 at the plate.

Riley King pitched a five-hitter, striking out one and walking one.

Piqua 27,

Xenia 0

XENIA — The Piqua softball team topped Xenia on the road Tuesday.

Audrey Bean was 4-for-5 with two doubles and seven RBIs.

Taylan Swartz was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs and Izzy Vincent had two RBIs and a double.

Sam Clark was 2-for-3 and Abigail Kirk was 2-for-2.

Piqua took advantage of 15 walks.

Julia Coppess and Dylan Weatherly combined on a four-hitter, striking out five and walking one.

Robinson 10,

Tippecanoe 2

The Tippecanoe softball team dropped a game Tuesday.

Gracie Raiff and Graci Anderson were both 2-for-4 and Kyle Fry was 2-for-3 with two doubles.

Jaina Drum pitched a 14-hitter, walking three.

Troy Christian 1

COVINGTON — The Covington softball team opened the season with a TRC win.

Emalyn Johnson hit a home run for the Buccs and Elizabeth Coblentz and Whitney Burns both doubled.

Ava Hartwig and Nell Rogers were 2-for-2.

Burns pitched a five-hitter, striking out seven and walking three.

For Troy Christian, Ella Dersham had a RBI single to score Gwen Harris.

Dersham pitched a 12-hitter, striking out five and walking four.

Miami East 22,

Northridge 3

DAYTON — The Miami East softball team cruised to a win in its TRC opener.

Kylie Gentis was 3-for-4 with six RBIs, Whitni Enis 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs and Jaycee Roeth had a triple and three RBIs.

Madison Maxson was 3-for-4 with two RBIs, Jcqueline Kadel was 2-for-2 with two RBIs, Reagan Howell was 2-for-2 and Jaylen Carter was 2-for-3.

Kadel and Gentis combined on a one-hitter, striking out 12 and walking two.

Riverside 6,

Bethel 5

DEGRAFF — The Bethel softball team rallied from a 5-0 deficit before losing on the road in TRC action Tuesday.

Karis Hawk was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs and Ellie Larkins was 3-for-4 with a double.

Adaline Etherington pitched a 12-hitter, striking out seven and walking two.

SIDNEY — The Newton softball team opened the season with a road win.

Hannah Williams was 3-for-3 with a double and Vivian Clark had three RBIs.

Cori Haines pitched a one-hitter, striking out five and walking one.

BEAVERCREEK — The Bradford softball team dropped to 0-2 on the season Tuesday.

Vivian Harleman and Tegan Canan combined to strikeout two and walk four.
