TIPP CITY — The Tippecanoe football team prepped for a big game with Troy next Friday, defeating Xenia 30-0 Thursday night to improve to 5-1 overall and 5-0 in the MVL.

Liam Poronsky completed nine of 17 passes for 160 yards, with three touchdowns and an intercpetion.

Jason Rindler caught four passes for 85 yards.

He had touchdown receptions of 23 and 21 yards and ran for a two-point PAT.

Cayd Everhart had a 34-yard receptions and Zach Butera caught three catches for 28 yards, including a touchdown.

Everhart had 103 yards rushing on 19 carries, including a four-yard TD run and Jackson Kleather kicked two PATs.

Tipp also recorded a safety when a snap to the punter went out of the end zone.

Everhart recovered a fumble and led the team with eight tackles.

Josh Dietz had seven tackles and Rindler added five.

Tipp will host Troy on Friday.

MVL title

SPRINGFIELD — The Tippecanoe boys golf team wrapped up the MVL title by winning the tournament at Locust Hills with a 328 score, 15 shots ahead of Troy.

Brayden Bottles was medalist with a 74.

No other Tipp scores were available at press time.

Troy shot a 343 to finish second overall in the MVL.

“It was a great end to a great week for us,” Troy coach Mark Evilsizor said. “We could have ended up fourth place in the MVL. The win over Tipp on Monday and our second place finish in the tournament solidified a solo second in the MVL.

“I am extremely proud how we finished the MVL season after opening losses to Greenville and Butler.”

Henry Johnston tied for fourth overall with an 81.

Other Troy scores were Bryce Massingill 86, Brayden Schwartz 86, Luke Huber 90, Zane Hueslman 91 and John Kneisley 93.

The Piqua boys golf team shot 357, losing the fifth-place tiebreaker to Xenia.

Evan Hensler tied for sixth over all with an 83 and Richard Price tied for ninth overall with an 86.

Other Piqua scores were Sabastian Karabinis 89, Hunter Steinke 99 and Drew Hinkle 107.

TROY — The Troy girls tennis team swept Fairmont 5-0 Thursday.

In singles, Elizabeth Niemi defeated Madison Watkins 6-2, 6-2; Esha Patel defeated Katie Drake 6-3, 6-2; and Josie Romick defeated Isabelle Turner 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles, Madailein Logan and Taima Rajab defeated Adeline Hennessy and Anna Glus 6-1, 6-0 and Olivia Johnston and Casey Rogers defeated Abby List and Audrey Lundgren 7-6 (1), 6-1.

Ethan Gudorf scored the first goal on a free kick.

Trenton Maxson scored off an assist from Dylan Barnes.

WEST MILTON — Milton-Union opened a 4-0 halftime lead and held on for the win.

Luke Baum had one goal and one assist.

Landon Bechtel, Lukas Knight and Mason Grudich had one goal each and Shane Ullery had one assist.

Nate Barker had six saves in goal.

Samuel LaForme and Joshua George had one goal each.

Collin Potts had an assist and Ryan Armstrong had six saves in goal.

Ely Cook scored the Indians goal off an assist from Dan Fisher.

Colleen O’Leary had two goals and Callie Giguere had one goal and one assist.

Ella Black, Eva Dexter and Emilee VanSkiver scored one goal each.

Tori Lachey had three assists and Molly Greene added one.

Heidi Toner has the shutout in goal.
