TMCS offering youth, adult beginner tennis classes

TIPP CITY — Tipp Monroe Community Services is teaming up with Schroeder Tennis Center to offer a series of beginner tennis classes this winter and spring. Participants will learn basic tennis fundamentals in a fun and active environment.

Tennis is a great sport with a lot of physical and mental benefits. This is a special introductory offer for anyone registering through TMCS. These classes are for beginners or players with limited experience. Classes are 5-weeks long and are taught by certified professional tennis instructors. Start dates, start times and prices vary according to age group. Register and pay online at tmcomservices.org.

The following classes are available:

Pee Wee (Ages 4-5) Pros will work with these youngsters to develop basic tennis skills and improve hand/eye coordination. Cost: $67 resident / $69 non-resident.

• Begins Feb. 15, 5:30-6:15 p.m.

Tennis Tigers (Ages 6-7) Pros will work with these youngsters to develop basic tennis skills and improve hand/eye coordination. Cost: $67 resident / $69 non-resident.

• Begins Feb. 14, 5-6 p.m.

• Begins Feb. 15, 4:30-5:30 p.m.

• Begins Feb. 19, 10 :30-11 :30 a.m.

Future Champs (Ages 8-10) This class introduces all basic tennis skills to young players: forehand, backhand, serve, volley and court movement. Cost: $67 resident / $69 non-resident.

• Begins Feb. 15, 6:30-7:30 p.m.

• Begins Feb. 18, 4:30-5:30 p.m.

• Begins Feb. 19, 12:30-1:30 p.m. or 3-4 p.m.

Junior Rec (Ages 11-15) This beginner class is for older youth just discovering how fun tennis can be. They will learn forehand, backhand, serve, volley and court movement. Cost: $77 resident / $79 non-resident.

• Begins Feb. 14, 4-5 p.m.

• Begins Feb. 19, 1-2 p.m.

USA123 Adult Beginner Class (Ages 18+) The cost is: $67 resident/$69 non-resident

• Begins Feb. 14, 6-7 p.m.

• Begins Feb. 18, 6-7 p.m.
