Dec. 10

THEFT: Kimberly A. Schields, 52, of Tipp City, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor theft in connection with a reported theft at Walmart in Troy.

ANIMAL COMPLAINT: Officer was dispatched to three dogs running at large and charging at people on the 900 block of South Walnut Street at 9:20 a.m. Jordan E. Sturgill, 26, of Troy, was cited for animals running at large and required animal registration.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE: An officer was dispatched to a criminal damaging complaint on Glenwood Drive. There are no suspects. A report was taken.

FRAUD: An officer was dispatched to a fraud complaint on West Water Street at 12:22 p.m. This case is under investigation and remains open.

FRAUD: Officer dispatched to a fraud complaint on Saratoga Drive at 1:40 p.m. Report taken, and reporting person advised.

HIT SKIP: A hit skip accident was reported at 4:22 p.m. on the Troy Public Square.

HARASSMENT: An officer was dispatched to a telecommunications complaint at 6 p.m. on South Crawford Street, and a report was completed.

Dec. 11

WARRANT: Troy units responded to the Budget Inn on Archer Drive looking for a male with an active Miami County warrant at 12:03 a.m. The male was arrested and incarcerated.

BROKEN WINDOW: An officer was dispatched to the old Avenue clothing store at 1420 W. Main St. for a report of a broken window. Upon arrival, a report was taken.

ACCIDENT: An accident with no injuries was reported at noon on the 300 block of South Market Street.

HIT SKIP: A male operating a maroon truck on East Simpson Street struck another unoccupied vehicle and left the scene. It was reported at 5 p.m.

THEFT: At 1 E. Main St., Grandpa Joe’s Candy Shop, an officer came in contact with subjects in reference to a theft in progress call. As a result, a male juvenile was charged with theft.

BURGLARY: There was a report of a burglary at 9:40 p.m. on the 100 block of South Plum Street. A report was completed.

ASSAULT: An officer came in contact with a subject in reference to a report of an assault in progress call at 10 p.m. on the 2500 block of Thornhill Drive. As a result, a subject was charged with assault. Dylan R. Charles, 26, of Troy, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor assault in connection with this incident.

Dec. 12

HIT SKIP: An officer responded to a report of a hit skip accident at 12:05 a.m. on Hauenstein Court. A suspect was identified, and the officer is attempting to contact him and locate the car.

ACCIDENT: An officer was dispatched to a non-injury single vehicle accident complaint at South Norwich Road and West Main Street at 12:40 a.m. The driver of the vehicle was identified and cited for failure to control. Report taken.

HIT SKIP: A hit skip accident was reported on the public square at 12:50 a.m.

CHILD ENDANGERING: An officer received information about a potential child abuse situation, and a report was completed for information purposes and was forwarded to Children’s Services.

ACCIDENT: An accident with no injuries was reported at 8:25 a.m. on the 400 block of East Main Street.

THEFT: An officer responded to Kohls in reference to a theft of a vehicle complaint. It was stolen between 3-5 p.m. The vehicle was entered as stolen. This case is active.

RECOVERED STOLEN VEHICLE: An officer was flagged down at 1260 S. Dorset Rd., Motel 6, in reference to a stolen vehicle at 6 p.m. The vehicle was located, confirmed stolen, and towed. Information was passed on to the agency from which vehicle was stolen.

ACCIDENT: At West Main Street and North Dorset Road, an officer came in contact with a subject in reference to an accident with injury call at 6:24 p.m. As a result, a subject was charged with OVI and given a traffic citation. Stephen C. Cook, 40, of Troy, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor OVI.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE: A vehicle was damaged while parked in front of the 600 block of Carriage Drive.

RECOVERED: An officer recovered a stolen license plate from a stolen vehicle. The stolen plate was returned to its owner.

Dec. 13

ACCIDENT: Police responded to a private property accident with a vehicle into a building at 9:57 a.m. on the 1800 block of Towne Park Drive. Report taken, citation issued.

ACCIDENT: There was a report of a non-injury traffic accident on the West Market Street overpass at 2:18 p.m.

CHILD ENDANGERING: An officer responded to CVS, located at 804 West Main Street, in reference to an assist squad call at 4:19 p.m. Upon further investigation, there was not a medical issue and this report was documented and sent to Children’s Services. One female was charged with endangering children. Her name was redacted. Case closed.

CHILD ENDANGERING: An officer responded to a suspicious complaint at 9 p.m. Upon further investigation, one female was charged with child endangering and Children’s Services responded to assist. The children involved stayed with their mother and anther known male that was able to watch them. Case closed. The location was redacted. The suspect’s name was not included.

PRISONER TRANSPORT: An officer was dispatched at 11:47 p.m. to the Tri-County Jail for a prisoner transport. One adult male was taken into custody on an active warrant and transported/booked into the Miami County downtown jail.
