TROY – The Troy Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center hosted a ribbon-cutting event Tuesday, Oct. 19, in honor of their recent renovations and expansion for a dialysis program.

Kevin Daubenmire, CEO, said, “We are excited to open the new in-patient dialysis center. We’re excited to celebrate the renovations and the dialysis center.”

Shonica Bowermeister, Troy Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center marketing director, mentioned in her tour the renovation was over two years in the making due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They will be able to hold six persons each day in the dialysis center. There are two private rooms as well which include WiFi, television, and a private bathroom.

“It’s great to have this available. It reduces the obstacles patients have to face to go somewhere else for a dialysis treatment,” said Bowermeister.

Representatives from the Troy Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center and the ambassadors from the Troy Chamber of Commerce stood together to cut the ribbon for the ceremony, which includes the city of Troy Mayor Robin Oda.

Daubenmire thanked the staff, nurses, department heads, and other faculty for their work in providing care to the patients in the facility. He also thanked the physicians and families for their support.

During Daubenmire’s speech, he thanked the community saying, “It’s truly a privilege to own a business in this community.”

The Troy Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center’s mission statement is: “By providing genuine hometown care; treating our guests, their loved ones, and our staff as family; and integrating our care center into our community; we aspire to actualize our mission of excellence in care.”

Tours were provided to attendees following the ribbon-cutting.
