SIDNEY — The showdown is set.

The Troy boys basketball team will host Tippecanoe Friday night at the Trojan Activity Center with first place on the line.

The Trojans stayed within one game of the Red Devils by cruising to a 77-58 win over Sidney Tuesday night.

Troy is now 15-4 overall and 14-1 in the MVL.

Troy led 18-12, 38-18 and 59-38 at the quarter breaks.

Hollis Terrell got Troy off to a fast start with three 3-pointers and 11 points in the opening quarter.

In the second quarter, it was Isaac Phillips scored nine points and in the third quarter, it was Noah Davis scoring 11 points and Terrell adding seven points.

Terrell led the Trojans with 20 points.

Phillips had 14 points and Nick Prince scored 13 points.

Davis netted 11 points, Kellen Miller scored eight points and Konyae Foster added six points.

Tippecanoe 64,

Fairborn 49

TIPP CITY — The Tippecanoe boys basketball team improved to 17-1 overall and 14-0 in the MVL.

The Red Devils led 20-10, 34-21 and 54-36 at the quarter breaks.

Stanley Clyne had 25 points, eight rebounds and two blocked shots for Tipp.

Evan Manes added 14 points and Maddox Sivon had nine points and seven rebounds.

C.J. Bailey had seven points and four assists and Jackson Smith had seven points and five rebounds.

Piqua 59,

Stebbins 46

PIQUA — The Piqua boys basketball team improved to 14-5 overall and 10-5 in the MVL with a win at Garbry Gymnasium.

Piqua led 14-10, 27-20 and 43-28 at the quarter breaks.

Dre’Sean Roberts led the Indians with 24 points, eight rebounds, five assists and four steals.

Bryson Roberts scored 15 points and Anson Cox had 14 points and five rebounds.

Colten Beougher dished out three assists.

Northridge 35

DAYTON — The Troy Christian boys basketball team maintained a share of the TRC lead by winning a defensive battle on the road Tuesday night.

The Eagles improved to 16-3 overall and 11-1 in the TRC.

Troy Christian led 11-8, 18-16 and 31-28 at the quarter breaks.

Bethel 53,

Milton-Union 44

BRANDT — The Bethel boys basketball team got a home win in TRC action Tuesday.

The Bees improved to 7-13 overall and 4-8 in the TRC, while the Bulldogs dropped to 10-9 overall and 6-6 in the TRC.

Mike Halleg led Bethel with 19 points and Jason Bowen added 11 points.

Connor Yates had 13 points and 12 rebounds for Milton-Union and Cooper Brown had 10 points, five rebounds and three steals.

Tyler Kress scored eight points and Carson Brown added six points.

Lehman 61,

Covington 52

COVINGTON — The Lehman Catholic boys basketball team got a road win in TRC action Tuesday night.

Lehman improved to 13-6 overall and 7-5 in the TRC, while Covington dropped to 5-15 overall and 0-12 in the TRC.

Justin Chapman had 24 points, 20 rebounds and eight blocks for Lehman and Da’Ron Pride added 19 points.

Donovan O’Leary scored seven points and pulled down nine rebounds and Devon Pride added six points.

Britton Miller led Covington with 17 points.

Brogen Angle scored 16 points, Connor Humphrey netted seven points and Bryson Hite added six points.

Botkins 61,

Newton 46

BOTKINS — The Newton boys basketball team dropped to 9-10 on the season with a non-conference loss on the road Tuesday night.

Botkins hit 10 3-pointers in the first half and led 20-11, 36-24 and 46-36 at the quarter breaks.

Quinn Peters led Newton with 19 points and six rebounds.

Harold Oburn scored 13 points and pulled down eight rebounds and Aaron Colvin added five points and blocked two shots.

Carson Tucker and Hudson Montgomery had four assists each.

Bradford 21

BRADFORD — The Bradford girls basketball team dropped to 0-19 with a home loss in non-conference action Tuesday night.

The Railroaders trailed 11-3, 19-6 and 30-8 at the quarter breaks.
