CENTERVILLE — The Troy volleyball team advanced in Centerville D-I sectional action Tuesday night.

Troy defeated Springfield 25-14, 25-22, 25-15.

Troy, 17-6 and the fourth seed, will play sixth seed Beavercreek at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Centerville.

Kasey Sager had nine kills and three blocks for the Trojans and Zoe Tracey had seven kills and seven digs.

Hannah Duff had three aces and 10 digs and Brooklyn Jackson had seven aces and nine digs.

Ellie Fogarty had 23 assists and 11 digs and Brynn Siler had seven digs and three blocks.

Piqua 3,

W. Carrollton 0

VANDALIA — The Piqua volleyball team advanced in Vandalia D-I sectional action with a 25-6, 25-19, 25-19 win at the SAC Tuesday night.

Piqua, 3-20 and the 20th seed will play top seed Centerville at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Elizabeth Copsey had 10 kills and 10 digs for Piqua.

Lily Haning served eight aces and had six digs and Jordan Adkins had nine kills and two blocks.

Olivia Anthony dished out 26 assists.

D-II

Tippecanoe 3,

Meadowdale 0

NEW CARLISLE — The Tippecanoe volleyball team cruised to a 25-4, 25-5, 25-9 win over Meadowdale Tuesday in Tecumseh D-II sectional action.

Tipp, 22-1 and the top seed, will play 11th seed Urbana at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

“It all came down to tough serving and our good ball control,” Tippecanoe coach Howard Garcia said. “It is a good start in the tournament.”

Alexa Mader had seven kills and Olivia Gustavson added five kills.

Grace Kinsman served seven aces, Savy Dean had five aces and Cami Gingerich and Ellie McCormick added four aces each.

Ellie McCormick had 15 assists and Hannah Wildermuth dished out 13 assists.

D-IV

Covington 3,

Yellow Springs 0

ARCANUM — The Covington volleyball team opened Arcanum D-IV sectional play with a 25-9, 25-13, 25-11 win.

Covington, 15-8 and the fifth seed will play 14th seed Botkins at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Taylor Kirker had 27 assists and seven digs and Nigella Reck had seven kills, seven digs and four aces.

Carlie Besecker had 12 kills, five blocks and five digs and Kearsten Wiggins had six digs.

Reaghan Lemp served three aces and had seven digs and Lauren York had seven digs.

Fairlawn 3,

Newton 2

ARCANUM — The Newton volleyball team’s record season came to an end with a heartbreaking 26-24, 10-25, 25-23, 15-25, 15-9 loss to Fairlawn Tuesday in Arcanum D-IV action.

Sienna Montgomery pounded 19 kills for the Indians, who finished the season 21-2.

Bella Hall had 14 kills, five aces and three blocks and Emma Hemphill had 11 kills and 19 digs.

Oliivia Rapp had 10 kills and 11 digs and Ella Rapp dished out 54 assists and had 11 digs.

Eva Bowser led the defense with 32 digs, Kaylee Deeter had 13 digs and Ava Rapp added eight digs.

Fort Loramie 3,

Bradford 0

TROY — The Bradford volleyball team lost 25-3, 25-10, 25-10 in Troy D-IV sectional action.

Remi Harleman had two kills for the Railroaders, while Bella Brewer had three assists and nine digs.

Brooklyn Crickmore served one ace.
