CASSTOWN — Maryn Gross hit the game-winning shot as Miami East girls basketball team won a 41-39 thriller over Versailles Thursday night to remain unbeaten.

The Vikings had led 14-4 after one quarter and 28-18 at halftime.

But, the Tigers outpointed them 12-2 in the third quarter and it was a battle from there.

Camryn Francis led a balanced East attack with nine points.

Gross, McKayah Musselman and Logan Phillips all scored eight points and Jacqueline Kadel added six points.

Covington 46,

Milton-Union 30

WEST MILTON — The Covington girls basketball team picked up a TRC win on the road to maintain a share of first place with Miami East.

The Buccs led 10-7, 25-19 and 35-23 at the quarter breaks.

Carlie Besecker led a balanced Covington attack with 14 points.

Gracie Anderson scored 13 points, Maggie Anderson netted nine and Delaney Murphy added eight points.

Jenna Brumbaugh led Milton-Union with 14 points, six rebounds and three assists.

Shannon Brumbaugh had 10 points and three steals and Ava Berberich had six points.

XENIA — The Troy girls basketball team dropped a road game in MVL action Wednesday night.

Troy trailed 16-6, 29-17 and 42-28 at the quarter breaks.

Jadyn Almeida led Troy with 11 points.

Allana Bolden scored eight points and Kiyah Baker scored seven points.

Tippecanoe 40

TIPP CITY — The Tippecanoe girls basketball team lost at home in MVL action Wednesday.

Tipp trailed 11-8, 22-19 and 31-26 at the quarter breaks.

Piqua 13

VANDALIA — The Piqua girls struggled to get going offensively in a MVL loss at the SAC Tuesday night.

Butler led 13-4, 23-5 and 35-7 at the quarter breaks.

D’Vaya Cooper and Logan Spradlin scored five points each.

Audrey Bean had seven rebounds and three steals.
