TIPP CITY – The Tipp City City Council honored the 2023 Office of the Year and presented modifications to the city’s Codified Code of Ordinances that will be introduced for public hearing at the next council meeting.

Officer Seth Victor, the 2023 Office of the Year, received a proclamation from Mayor Logan Rogers and recognition from the City Council on Feb. 20 for his service to the Tipp City Police Department in 2023.

Victor began his career with Tipp City Police Department (TCPD) in 2023 after serving the city of Dayton for seven years. He was nominated after his first year with the TCPD by coworkers and supervisors alike for his great work and attitude.

After the Officer of the Year award was presented, council was introduced to the following three ordinances:

• To accept an application of annexation of approximately 9.415 acres from Monroe Township into the city of Tipp City.

The land was recently purchased by the city to be used for the future location of the city’s fourth substation.

• To make two amendments that are for modifications to the general offenses and traffic sections of the Code of Ordinances of the city in order to maintain compliance with state laws.

All three ordinances will be open for public hearing during the next Tipp City City Council meeting.

City council then approved multiple motions. The first approved motion was to appoint the 2024 Charter Review Commission. David Cook, George Lovett, Levi O’Neill, Michael Vestey, Jon Crusey and Brian Ault were appointed to the commission.

The next motions approved were to set the public hearing dates for the rezoning of 59 and 85 Kessler-Cowlesville Road and 4025 S. County Road 25A. The fourth motion approved the interim zoning classification of Conservation District for 4155 Peters Road

Lastly, council passed a motion to allow the Police Chief and the City Manager to sign an F2 permit application for the Downtown Tipp City Partnership for their Saint Paddy’s 5K to be held on March 17, 2024.
