CASSTOWN — Of the three individuals who were seeking one of the two open Miami East School Board of Education seats, voters picked Les Kinder and John E. Demmitt on Election Day, Nov. 7, to be the new board members. All election results are unofficial until they certified by the Miami County Board of Elections after Election Day on Nov. 21.
Demmitt earned 1,839 votes (37.31%) and Kinder received 1,580 votes (32.06%). The third candidate, Mark E. Iiames earned 1,510 votes (30.64%).
A total of 3,659 out of the 6,310 registered voters cast their ballots for the election. That was a total of 57.99% of registered voters.
