TIPP CITY — The Milton-Union boys tennis team won the Schroeder Invitational Saturday, edging out Troy.

Milton-Union had 36 points, Troy was second with 33 and Lehman Catholic finished eighth.

FIRST SINGLES

Milton-Union’s Levi Brumbaugh finished second, Troy’s Kyle Penny was third and Lehman Catholic’s Tommy Lins was eighth.

Brumbaugh defeated Eaton 8-0, beat Penny 8-6 and lost to Northwestern 8-0 in the title match.

Penny defeated Sidney 8-1, before losing to Brumbaugh. He defeated St. Marys 8-2 in the third-place match.

Lins lost St. Marys 8-1, lost to Vandalia-Butler 8-2 and lost Eaton 8-1.

SECOND SINGLES

Milton-Union’s Ben Iddings won, Troy’s Kellan Nichols finished second and Lehman Catholic’s Logan Linson finished eighth.

Iddings defeated Sidney 8-0, defeated Vandalia-Butler 8-1 and defeated Nichols 8-5 in the title match.

Nichols advanced to the title match by defeating Eaton 8-4 and St. Marys 8-5.

Linson lost to St. Marys 8-4, Eaton 8-0 and Sidney 8-1.

THIRD SINGLES

Troy’s Michael Burns won, Milton-Union’s Tommy Ryerson took second and Lehman’s Ethan Taylor finished eighth.

Burns defeated St. Marys 8-1, Sidney 8-1 and Ryerson 8-6 in the title match.

Ryerson advanced to the title match by defeated Northwestern 8-3 and Eaton 8-4.

Taylor lost to Sidney 8-2, St. Marys 8-0 and Northwestern 8-5.

FIRST DOUBLES

Troy’s Leo Gluck and Troy Whitehead finished second, Milton-Union’s Titus Copp and Tyler Combs finished third and Lehman’s Luke Courtad and Adam Flood finished eighth.

Gluck and Whitehead defeated Vandalia-Butler 8-4 and Northwestern 8-6, before losing to St. Marys 9-7 in the title match.

Copp and Combs defeated Sidney 8-3, lost to St. Marys 8-4 and defeated Northwestern 8-4 in the title match.

Courtad and Flood lost to Northwestern 8-1, Vandalia-Butler 8-6 and Sidney 8-3.

SECOND DOUBLES

Milton-Union Braden Schauer and Brock Hammond won, Troy’s Adam Harris and Parth Rajput finished third and Lehman Catholic’s Calvin Linson and O’Keefe Cooper finished seventh.

Schauer and Hammond defeated Northwestern 8-2, Sidney 8-3 and St. Marys 9-8 in the title match.

Harris and Rajput defeated Vandalia-Butler 8-3, lost to St. Marys 8-6 and defeated Sidney by forfeit in the third-place match.

Linson and Cooper lost to St Marys 8-2, lost to Vandalia-Butler 8-3 and defeated Eaton 8-0 in the seventh-place match.

Tipp drops

three matches

TIPP CITY — The Tippecanoe boys tennis team dropped a match to Centerville 4-1 in the OTCA tennis tournament.

In singles, Nick Von Krosigk lost 6-1, 5-7, Cameron Davis won 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 and Alex Darner lost 6-1, 6-2.

In doubles, Roman List and Grant Vonderheide lost 6-3, 6-4 and Ty Hoover and Deacon Blake lost 6-7 (6), 6-2, 6-2.

On Saturday, Tippecanoe lost to Upper Arlington 3-2 and Bexley 5-0.
