Dementia discuss doctor resources 

DAYTON — The Alzheimer’s Association Miami Valley Chapter will host a roundtable for healthcare professionals to discuss resources available to improve accurate and timely diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease.

The free webinar, which will be held from 8-9 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 3, will feature information about the Association’s Project Echo, where physicians can present cases and get coaching from a multidisciplinary clinical team from around the country. The goal is to increase the number of people who receive affordable, high-quality care and support.

Amy Boehm, Health Systems Director for the Alzheimer’s Association in Ohio, will be the guest speaker. To register, email [email protected] or call 937.610.7010. After registering, a Zoom link to the meeting will be shared.

The session is open to any medical, social services or health care provider who supports the Miami Valley’s families facing Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. Book discussion upcoming 

WEST MILTON — Join Kim from the Milton-Union Public Library from noon to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18 for a casual book discussion over “The Long Flight Home,” by Alan Hlad via Zoom.

Cooking demo offered 

TIPP CITY — Chef Rob Scott, owner of Greenfire Fresh, will once again present a cooking demonstration for Tipp Monroe Community Services. Scott will be showing attendees how to make a special Valentine’s Day dish. The recipe will be kept a secret for now.

“You won’t want to miss this fun evening of good food, good wine and good company,” said Katie Sonnanstine, program coordinator at TMCS.

A glass of wine and appetizers will be provided during the class. You must be 21-plus years old to attend. The cooking demonstration will be held at Greenfire Fres, 965 N.
