GREENVILLE — The Piqua boys basketball team will play Fairlawn in the opening round of the Holiday Tournament on Dec. 29.

The Indians improved to 3-0 overall and in the MVL with a 68-43 win over Greenville Tuesday night.

Piqua led 1-5, 29-13 and 49-21 at the quarter breaks.

Dre’Sean Roberts led Piqua with 18 points.

Bryson Roberts scored 15 points and Tanner Kemp and Anson Cox both had nine points.

Troy Christian 46,

Northridge 38

DAYTON — First place was on the line Tuesday night in TRC boys basketball action and Troy Christian got a big road win to remain unbeaten.

The Eagles are now 7-0 overall and 5-0 in the TRC and will play Graham in the first round of the Piqua Holiday Tournament on Dec. 29. Northridge dropped to 5-2 overall and 4-1 in the TRC.

Troy Christian led 12-10, 23-17 and 34-25 at the quarter breaks.

Milton-Union 70,

Bethel 58

BRANDT — Milton-Union used a big fourth quarter to get a TRC win on the road.

Milton is now 4-2 overall and 3-2 in the TRC and will play in Dixie Holiday Tournament Dec. 28 and Dec. 29.

Bethel dropped to 3-6 overall and 3-2 in the TRC and plays Triad Thursday.

Milton led 18-16 after one quarter and it was tied 30-30 at halftime.

Bethel took a 45-42 lead after three quarters, but Milton outscored the Bees 28-13 in the final eight minutes.

Blake Brumbaugh had 33 points, eight rebounds, five assists, three steals and a blocked shot for Milton-Union.

Connor Yares had 16 points, 10 rebounds and two blocked shots and Cooper Brown had 13 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, three steals and a blocked shot.

Landon Bechtel added five assists.

Casey Keesee had 19 points for Bethel, while Will Reittinger had 14 points and four steals.

Mike Halleg scored 13 points and Nico Golden had six points and three steals.

Remi Brannan grabbed seven rebounds.

Lehman Catholic 46,

Covington 32

COVINGTON — The Lehman Catholic boys basketball team picked up a road win Tuesday in TRC play.

Lehman, 5-2 overall and 2-2 in the TRC, hosts Bradford Thursday.

Covington, 1-6 overall and 0-5 in the TRC, will play Newton in the first round of the Covington Holiday Tournament on Dec. 28.

Lehman led 13-8, 25-16 and 33-23 at the quarter breaks.

Justin Chapman had 13 points and eight rebounds, while A’Zon Steel scored nine points.

Donovan O’Leary added eight points and 13 rebounds.

Britton Miller led Covington with 13 points.

Miami East 69,

Riverside 54

DEGRAFF — The Miami East boys basketball team picked up a road win in TRC action.

The Vikings, 4-2 overall and 2-2 in the TRC, after playing Graham on Wednesday, will go to Versailles Dec. 28.

Jacob Roeth had 24 points, 11 rebounds, four steals and eight assists for the Vikings.

Wes Enis had 23 points, four steals, two blocked shots and 12 rebounds and Connor Apple had 13 points and six rebounds.

Newton 52,

Dixie 41

PLEASANT HILL — The Newton boys basketball team picked up a WOAC win Tuesday night.

Newton, 4-4 overall and 2-2 in the WOAC, will play Covington in the Covington Holiday Tournament on Dec. 28.

Newton led 13-11, 23-14 and 34-26 at the quarter breaks.

Harold Oburn had 20 points and 13 rebounds for the Indians, while Chandler Peters scored 15 points and Hudson Montgomery had 10 points, five rebounds and five assists.

Bradford 44

Fr. Monroe 41

PITSBURG — The Bradford boys basketball team stayed unbeaten in WOAC action.

Bradford, 6-2 overall and 4-0 in the WOAC, plays at Lehman Catholic Thursday.

The game was tied 12-12 after one quarter, before Bradford took a 28-14 halftime lead.

Bradford led 35-26 after three quarters and held on for the win.

Owen Canan had 15 points and six steals for Bradford and Parker Davidson added 11 points, seven rebounds and seven steals.

Hudson Hill and Nolan Case scored six points each.

GIRLS

Lehman 45,

Milton-Union 41

WEST MILTON — The Lehman girls surprised Milton-Union in TRC action Tuesday.

Lehman, 4-6 overall and 3-4 in the TRC, will host Bradford in a girls/boys varsity doubleheader Thursday.

Milton-Union, 5-4 overall and 3-3 in the TRC, will play in the Dixie Holiday Tournament Dec. 28 and 29.

Milton led 20-14 after one quarter, but Lehman led 24-23 at halftime and 34-33 after three quarters.

Mara O’Leary had 21 points and 14 rebounds for Lehman.

Heidi Toner added 12 points and four assists and Caroline Wesner grabbed nine rebounds.

Kearsyn Robison had 15 points and nine rebounds for Milton-Union.

Ava Berberich scored nine points and Jenna Brumbaugh added eight points.

Raegan Fulton had nine rebounds, three steals and two blocked shots and Shannon Brumbaugh grabbed five rebounds. had three steals and blocked three shots.

Morgan Quisenberry blocked two shots.
