Schurz Communications announces NKTelco Innovation Fund

NEW KNOXVILLE – Schurz Communications Inc. (“Schurz”) and its broadband subsidiary NKTelco, has announced the NKTelco Innovation Fund, created to support, sustain and grow businesses in Ohio. The NKTelco Innovation Fund will provide investment of $500,000 distributed evenly over five years to selected local startups and growth stage companies.

GAHANNA — AEP Ohio, an American Electric Power (Nasdaq: AEP) company, filed with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) a settlement agreement addressing the company’s Electric Security Plan (ESP) filed in January 2023. The agreement paves the way for AEP Ohio to continue making reliability-focused improvements to the electric grid, support economic development, and create new programs that allow customers to manage their energy use and save money. The ESP also includes enhancements to its Standard Service Offer (SSO) auction process designed to produce more stable SSO generation rates.

Edison State receives Walmart Grant for Charger Station Food Pantry

PIQUA — The Edison Foundation recently received a $4,200 local community grant from Walmart on behalf of Edison State Community College. The funds will be used for the Charger Station food pantry located at the Piqua Campus. Nathan Kelly, store manager of the Piqua Walmart, visited campus on Thursday, Aug. 17, during which he presented a grant check and toured the Charger Station.
