Miami County Park District employee Bary Wood adds wood to the fire while boiling sap to make maple syrup on Saturday, Jan.28, at the park district’s Maple Ridge Reserve. Wood reports the sap began running early this season. Trees were tapped in late January. On Saturday, Wood planned to boil 200 gallons of sap.

COVINGTON — The village of Covington will host an open house on Monday, Feb. 6, to answer questions and seek public input on the subject of a new wastewater treatment facility and sewer rate increases needed to pay for the project.
