TROY — The Troy girls basketball team shut down Greenville Saturday at the Trojan Activity Center, winning 33-13 to complete a season sweep of the Green Wave.

Troy improved to 5-11 overall and 5-8 in the MVL with the win.

Allana Bolden had five points in the opening quarter and Kiyah Baker added three as Troy opened a 9-2 lead.

A basket by Riley King, a 3-pointer by Simone Adekoya and a basket by Bolden increased the lead to 16-2 midway through the second quarter and the Trojans would lead 18-5 at halftime and 22-7 after three quarters.

Jayda Dillow would lead Troy with eight points in the game, all in the second half.

Bolden scored seven points and Adekoya had five points and six rebounds.

Kiyah Baker had five rebounds and Jaelynn Smith had three steals.

Avery Baumann led Greenville with four points and Brooke Schmidt grabbed nine rebounds.

Troy was 11 of 37 from the floor for 30 percent and six of 10 from the line for 60 percent. The Trojans hit five of 14 3-pointers for 36 percent.

Troy limited Greenville to two field goals through the first three quarters and the Wave finished five of 36 from the floor for 14 percent and three of six from the line for 50 percent.

Greenville won the battle of the boards 28-20, but had 23 turnovers to Troy’s 20.

Tippecanoe 39,

Xenia 24

XENIA — The Tippecanoe girls basketball team maintained a share of first place in the MVL Miami Division with a road win Saturday.

Tipp improves to 10-4 overall and 9-3 in the MVL.

Emily Aselage led the Red Devils with 14 points.

Laney Cleckner scored seven points and Courtney Post added six points.

W. Carrollton 48,

Piqua 25

PIQUA — The Piqua girls basketball team got off to a slow start at Garbry Gymnasium Saturday.

Piqua drops to 2-13 overall and 1-12 in the MVL.

The Indians trailed 11-5, 19-11 and 35-15 at the quarter breaks.

Aubree Carroll had 11 points and four steals and Audrey Bean had 10 points, three assists, three steals and two blocks.

D’Vaya Cooper pulled down six rebounds.

Miami East 49,

Milton-Union 31

WEST MILTON — The Miami East girls basketball team remained unbeaten with a road win in TRC action.

The Vikings improved to 16-0 overall and 10-0 in the TRC.

The Bulldogs dropped to 14-3 overall and 7-3 in the TRC.

The game was tied 7-7 after one quarter.

East opened a 26-10 halftime lead and maintained a double-digit margin in the second half.

McKayah Musselman led Miami East with 15 points and five rebounds.

Maryn Gross scored nine points and had three steals.

Jacqueline Kadel had seven points and three assists and Camryn Francis scored seven points.

Katie Paulus netted six points and Logan Phillips added five points, four assists and three steals.

For Milton-Union, Ava Berberich had 14 points and six rebounds and Jenna Brumbaugh added 11 points, eight rebounds, four assists and five steals.

Sophie Layman pulled down seven rebounds.

Covington 52,

Northridge 49

DAYTON — The Covington girls basketball team rallied in the fourth quarter to stay within one game of Miami East in the TRC standings.

The Buccs improved to 14-4 overall and 9-1 in the TRC with the win.

Covington led 14-10 after one quarter and 25-20 at halftime.

The Buccs found themselves trailing 37-34 after three quarters, but rallied for the win.

Avery Koffer had 17 points and four assists and Maggie Anderson had 12 points, 10 rebounds and four assists, while extending her consecutive free throws made streak to 34.

Gracie Anderson had 12 points, Delaney Murphy scored 11 points and Carlie Besecker grabbed 10 rebounds.

Lehman Catholic 43,

Bethel 21

SIDNEY — The Lehman Catholic girls basketball team improved to 5-10 overall and 1-9 in the TRC.

Bethel dropped to 2-14 overall and 1-9 in the TRC.

The game was tied 7-7 after one quarter.

Lehman led 19-11 at halftime and 32-16 after three quarters.

Mara O’Leary had a double-double for Lehman with 12 points, 13 rebounds and two blocked shots.

Layla Platfoot had eight points and 11 rebounds and Kailee Rank had seven points, nine rebounds and three steals.

Aubri Karn scored seven points and Mel Karn added five points.

Taylor Geise pulled down five rebounds.

Emma Evans and Annabelle Adams had six points each for Bethel.

Zoie Drummond blocked two shots.

Riverside 59,

Troy Christian 43

DEGRAFF — The Troy Christian girls basketball team dropped to 6-8 overall and 3-7 in the TRC Saturday.

The Eagles trailed 13-7, 28-24 and 39-30 at the quarter breaks.
