Historic pistols return to Darke County

GREENVILLE — Four pistols, two percussions and two flintlocks, have returned to Darke County after several years. They were donated by Jon and Pam Brown of Arizona, former residents of New Weston. Not only have these historical firearms returned, but the two flintlock models are now residing in the new Lewis and Clark display in the Garst Museum’s Crossroads of Destiny wing.

PIQUA — Town & Country Furniture is closing after 53 years of serving Piqua and surrounding communities. Brothers and co-owners Bruce and Bob Soifer will retire at the conclusion of their final liquidation sale, which begins March 14.

IOOF Building busy with activity

A flurry of activity was seen Tuesday morning, March 12, on West Main Street in Troy with numerous workers and a crane out front of the IOOF Building, as well as busy construction workers at the rear working to rehabilitate the building formerly known as the Tavern Building.
