Historical Society acquires 351 items in 2022

TROY — The Troy Historical Society was founded in 1965 as a non-profit organization with the mission to preserve and educate the public about the history of Troy and Miami County. It is funded by membership dues, grants, gifts and sales of fundraising items. For decades, the society has partnered with the Troy-Miami County Public Library Local History Library to help individuals learn both local history and their family history.

TROY — Laber of Love Pet Rescue was officially founded by Troy resident Nicole Laber in August of 2019 with a mission to give the old or sick shelter pets a place to spend their last days or months so that they do not die without knowing they are loved.

Miami County Board of DD (Riverside) celebrated 70 years of service

TROY — In 2022, the Miami County Board of Developmental Disabilities, known locally as Riverside, celebrated 70 years of service. Riverside began in 1952 as a grassroots movement by parents of children with developmental disabilities. While once primarily in existence for educational and vocational purposes, federal and state laws brought many changes to the developmental disabilities service system.
