PIQUA — The Piqua Area Chamber of Commerce saw many new business come in to the city of Piqua in 2022 and continued growth into 2023.

TROY — The Miami County Commissioners look back with satisfaction at our decision to prioritize investments in economic and community development in 2022. As we take inventory of our investments in workforce and infrastructure, we see a sturdy foundation that will allow us to enhance the high quality of life that Miami County residents, workforce and businesses enjoy and expect.

TROY — The Troy Historical Society was founded in 1965 as a non-profit organization with the mission to preserve and educate the public about the history of Troy and Miami County. It is funded by membership dues, grants, gifts and sales of fundraising items. For decades, the society has partnered with the Troy-Miami County Public Library Local History Library to help individuals learn both local history and their family history.

PIQUA — Piqua Arts Council (PAC) has experienced outstanding growth over the past year, and it’s not looking to stop any time soon. With additional programming, an expanded reach through social media and an increase in membership, sponsorship and grants, it’s evident that the organization is constantly striving to influence more community members.

TIPP CITY — As one of the largest non-profit organizations in Miami County, The New Path, Inc. is often seen as an indicator of how the entire non-profit environment is fairing throughout the community. If that is the case, there has been a tremendous need for human services that the community is stepping up to fill.

TROY — Laber of Love Pet Rescue was officially founded by Troy resident Nicole Laber in August of 2019 with a mission to give the old or sick shelter pets a place to spend their last days or months so that they do not die without knowing they are loved.

PIQUA — There was a significant amount of construction in downtown Piqua in 2022, and as a result, several high-visibility locations have been significantly transformed, said Executive Director Lorna Swisher.

TIPP CITY — The city of Tipp City has many capital improvement projects planned for 2023 and seeking to hire new personnel.

TROY — As always, 2022 was a busy year for us, continuing to serve the needs of our lower-income residents, as we have for over 40 years. We are one agency enfolding two organizations, said Executive Director Keith GunderKline of the Miami Metropolitan Housing Authority and Miami County Community Action Council.

TROY — In 2022, the Miami County Board of Developmental Disabilities, known locally as Riverside, celebrated 70 years of service. Riverside began in 1952 as a grassroots movement by parents of children with developmental disabilities. While once primarily in existence for educational and vocational purposes, federal and state laws brought many changes to the developmental disabilities service system.
