TIPP CITY — Tipp Monroe Community Services is teaming up with Challenge Island to offer an educational and fun class called Simple Machine Treehouse. During this event, participants will adopt pet rocks then design and build pet rock treehouses using their imaginations and all six types of simple machines.

Versailles Poultry Days Miss Chick registration now open
VERSAILLES — Win $1,000 and a title for life. This contest is sponsored by Greenville National Bank and Versailles Poultry Days. The preliminaries are Friday, June 9, at noon and finals will be held on the festival grounds located at 459 S. Center St., Versailles on Saturday, June 10, at 2 p.m. in the former high school gymnasium. This contest is open to females 16 years of age by the day of the contest, and no older than 19 years of age. Limited to high school underclassmen and 2023 graduates. Contestants must reside in Darke County or a contiguous county (Miami, Mercer, Montgomery, Shelby, Auglaize, Preble, Jay, Randolph and Wayne). PIQUA — Over 100 students in grades five through 12 from Miami, Darke, Shelby, and Champaign Counties competed in the Ohio Academy of Science Upper Miami Valley District Science Day, held at Edison State Community College on Saturday, March 11.
